Singapore Reports 7,752 New COVID-19 Cases

SINGAPORE, Feb 7 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 7,752 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally to 397,823.

Of the new cases, 1,617 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, and 6,135 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 1,518 were local transmissions and 99 were imported cases.

Among the ART cases, with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 6,121 local transmissions and 14 imported cases, respectively.

A total of 1,074 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 21 cases in intensive care units.

Three deaths from COVID-19 were reported yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 871, the ministry said.– NNN-CNA
