Myanmar Extends State Of Emergency For Six More Months

YANGON, Feb 1 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar’s National Defence and Security Council, yesterday, announced the extension of the state of emergency for six more months.

The extension was made for necessary preparations, for the multi-party general elections, the announcement said.

The state of emergency was first declared in Feb, 2021, after the military detained former government leaders, including the state counsellor and the president.– NNN-MNA
