MALAYSIA, Kedah, Jan 28 (Bernama) — AT&S Malaysia held its first Career Fair in collaboration with the Faculty of Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEN) of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) on 25 and 26 January 2022 at the Industrial Engagement Zone of its library. The programs planned for the Career Fair were talks on AT&S and its products, mainly Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Integrated Circuit (IC) Substrates, a complimentary breakfast and engagement as well as interview sessions for the students. The Head of Human Resources of AT&S, Puan Sharifah Salmah Syed Harun, led her Talent Acquisition Team to meet the engineering students who came for the fair. She mentions, “By end of 2022, AT&S Malaysia needs about 700 employees. Some of them will be sent to Chongqing for on-job training and then to transfer the technology back to Kulim plant.”
The event was a joint effort between the Faculty of Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEN) and AT&S Malaysia. The Vice-Chancellor of UniMAP, Prof. Ts. Dr. Zaliman Bin Sauli, applauds the event, “UniMAP is open to industrial partnerships. We produce well-trained graduates in various sub-sectors of electrical and electronics industry. We look forward to more future collaborations with AT&S.” Asso. Prof. Ts. Dr. Azremi Abdullah Al-Hadi, the Dean of FTKEN, shows similar support and says, “FTKEN produces 500-600 fresh graduates every year in the field of electronics, such as microelectronics, computer, electronic system and industrial automation. With industrial driven curriculum structure and high-tech facility, FTKEN believes its graduates are well suited for the needs of AT&S.”
