JAKARTA, Jan 26 (NNN-ANTARA) – A joint team of policemen and customs officers, seized 150 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 20,000 pills of Happy 5, in Indonesia’s westernmost province of Aceh, a police officer said, yesterday.
Six people were arrested during the operation, on Jan 22, Aceh Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Haydar said, in the province’s capital of Banda Aceh.
The suspects are members of an Indonesia-Malaysia network, he said, adding that, the contrabands were sent from the Malacca Strait to Aceh.
If found guilty, the suspects will face the punishment of at least five years in prison, with the maximum of death penalty, under Indonesia’s law on narcotics, he said.– NNN-ANTARA
