KABUL, Jan 23 (NNN-ANA) – The ministry of refugee affairs of the afghan provisional government, began distributing a batch of grain recently, aided by the Chinese government to 34 provinces across the country.
Haqqani, spokesman for the ministry of refugee affairs of the afghan provisional government, said, the first batch of grain distribution will be for the 10 provinces that are most urgently needed, and then the batch of food aid will be distributed to other provinces.
Afghanistan is currently facing a serious humanitarian crisis. according to relevant United Nations agencies. 22.8 million people (more than half of the population) are facing serious food security problems, since Nov last year.
The Chinese government announced in Sept last year, it would provide emergency humanitarian assistance of 200 million yuan worth of food, winter supplies, vaccines and medicines to Afghanistan.– NNN-ANA
