Singapore Reports 813 New COVID-19 Cases

SINGAPORE, Jan 7 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 813 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally of the disease in the country to 283,214.

Of the new cases, 404 were in the community, 19 were in migrant workers’ dormitories and 390 were imported cases, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

There were 365 new Omicron cases confirmed on Monday, of whom 131 were local and 234 were imported, the ministry said.

A total of 171 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 16 cases being critically ill, in the intensive care unit (ICU). The current overall ICU utilisation rate is 47.1 percent.

One more patient has passed away from complications due to the COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 835.– NNN-CNA
