Kuwait’s New Gov’t Takes Constitutional Oath

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait’s new government, took the constitutional oath yesterday, before the National Assembly, or the parliament, it was reported.

Kuwait’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and his cabinet, took the oath at the start of the assembly’s ordinary session, to commence work prescribed in Article 91 of the Constitution.

On Nov 14, 2021, Kuwaiti Emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accepted the previous government’s resignation, about a week after the latter resigned.

On Nov 23, the crown prince, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issued an order on behalf of the Emir, to appoint Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as prime minister, and assign him to form a new government.

Kuwait formed a new government, led by the prime minister, on Dec 28.– NNN-KUNA
