LUSAKA, Dec 22 (NNN-ZANIS) – At least 56 people were seriously injured, when a military bus carrying them crashed into a stationary minibus, in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, early yesterday, local police said.
Police spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, said, the accident happened when the driver of the military bus misjudged clearance and rammed into the minibus.
Road traffic accidents are common in the African country. The southern African nation witnessed more than 8,000 road traffic accidents in the third quarter of 2021, which resulted in 585 deaths and 3,561 injuries, according to police figures.– NNN-ZANIS
