Indian Gov’t Reports Two COVID-19 Omicron Variant Cases

NEW DELHI, Dec 3 (NNN-PTI) – The Indian government yesterday said, two COVID-19 cases of the Omicron variant have been detected in India.

The cases were reported in the south-western state of Karnataka.

“Two cases of Omicron variant have been reported in the country so far. Both cases are from Karnataka,” Lav Agarwal, a senior health ministry official said, at a press briefing.

Agarwal said, all contacts of the two patients, both males, aged 66 and 46, have been traced.

Officials said, strict measures for international travellers have been implemented, to check the spread of the new coronavirus strain.– NNN-PTI
