TRIPOLI, Nov 22 (NNN-Xinhua) — Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah announced that he is running for president.
Dbeibah made the announcement in a televised speech, saying he has submitted his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections.
“There will no longer be war, and Libya will be sovereign and united,” the prime minister noted.
Dbeibah was appointed as the prime minister of the Government of National Unity in February by the UN-sponsored Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF).
Libya is expecting to hold general elections on Dec 24 as part of a roadmap adopted by LPDF.
