MOQUEGUA, Peru Mmarch 21 ( NNN-ANDINA) – President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday affirmed that joint efforts by private businesses and the State will lay the foundations for Peru’s sustainable development.
Within the framework of the inauguration of the first direct flight between Lima and the port city of Ilo, the Head of State indicated this new route will boost tourism in the Inca country’s southern areas.
“This type of flights should be permanent in order to achieve the air connectivity Ilo Province, and therefore Moquegua region, was lacking (…),” the top official expressed.
Likewise, he was confident Ilo Airport will welcome international flights, as there is demand for direct air transportation between this city and the Bolivian capital of La Paz.
Furthermore, President Vizcarra pointed out the goal is for the whole Inca nation to be interconnected, since regions —such as Pasco or Apurimac— do not have direct flights, thus limiting their development.
