NEW DELHI, Nov 9 (NNN-PTI) – The Indian drugmaker, Zydus Cadila, is expected to supply 10 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, ZyCoV-D, to the federal government, at a price of about 3.58 U.S. dollars per dose, local media reported yesterday.
“Zydus Cadila received an order to supply one crore doses of ZyCoV-D, the world’s first Plasmid DNA Vaccine, to the Government of India, at 265 rupees per dose and the needle-free applicator being offered at 93 rupees (1.26 U.S. dollars) per dose, excluding goods and services tax (GST),” the drugmaker was quoted as saying, in its regulatory filing.
The company said, the prices were a result of consultations with the federal government.
The ZyCoV-D vaccine will be administered using a needle-free applicator, as compared to traditional syringes. The applicator is called “PharmaJet.”
In Aug, the vaccine received emergency use authorisation from India’s drug regulator, for the use in a three-dose regimen in adults and children aged over 12.– NNN-PTI
