RIYADH, Oct 30 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabia recalled, yesterday, its ambassador to Lebanon and demanded the Lebanese ambassador leave the kingdom within 48 hours, it was reported here.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry also announced an immediate halt to all Lebanese imports, the report said.
Saudi Arabia summoned, on Wednesday, the Lebanese ambassador, over comments made by the Lebanese Information Minister, George Kordahi, that criticised the Saudi-led coalition, involved in Yemen’s civil war.
The ministry confirmed that the decisions won’t affect Lebanese citizens residing in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia halted, in Apr, the import of Lebanese vegetables and fruits, after discovering narcotics smuggled inside such shipments from Lebanon.– NNN-SPA
