NEW DELHI, Oct 28 (NNN-PTI) – Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, reaffirmed the importance of the East Asia Summit (EAS), in bringing together nations, to discuss important strategic issues, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Modi made the remarks, when participating in the 16th EAS yesterday, via videoconference.
He also highlighted India’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, through vaccines and medical supplies.
The EAS summit, hosted by Brunei, in the capacity of the Chair of East Asian Summit (EAS) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), saw participation of leaders from ASEAN countries and other EAS participating countries.
At the summit, the participating leaders also discussed important regional and international issues.– NNN-PTI
