Tunisian interior minister meets Interpol official on fighting terrorism, organized crime

TUNIS, Oct 28 (NNN-Xinhua) — Tunisian Interior Minister Taoufik Charfeddine met with Jurgen Stock, secretary-general of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported.

During his meeting with Stock, Charfeddine said Tunisia supports the organization’s efforts in fighting terrorism and organized crime, and underlined the need to increase collaboration.

For his part, Stock stressed the main role played by the Ministry of Interior in its continuous cooperation and coordination with Interpol.

As an inter-governmental organization with 194 member countries, Interpol facilitates international police cooperation in adopting proactive strategies to combat organized crime threats, promote information exchange and improve their investigative skills. — NNN-XINHUA
