TEHRAN, Oct 22 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s Air Force launched yesterday, large-scale and nationwide drills, state TV IRIB reported.
All the air bases of the Iranian army participated in the exercise, chief commander of the Iranian army’s air force, Brigadier General, Hamid Vahedi was quoted as saying.
A major role has been assigned to air bases in the central city of Isfahan, southern Bushehr, south-eastern Bandar Abbas, south-western Dezful, and north-western Tabriz, the Iranian commander added.
The central headquarters of the air force, near Tehran, determined the targets and communicated directly with the pilots in the fighter jets, he said.
In the manoeuvre, heavy and semi-heavy, locally-developed smart bombs were used, along with missiles guided by laser, thermal cameras and radar.– NNN-IRNA
