KABUL, Oct 19 (NNN-ANA) – Authorities in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, have resumed the electronic national identity card issuance service, the local television channel, Tolonews reported.
The service was resumed Saturday, after two months of a halt, and in the first phase, 80,000 e-ID cards will be issued, the report said.
After the country’s takeover by the Taliban in mid-Aug, the government agencies handling passport and e-ID card affairs had remained closed.
The passport department resumed the issuance service last week, according to the Tolonews report.– NNN-ANA
