Pakistan Records 720 New COVID-19 Cases

ISLAMABAD, Oct 17 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan recorded 720 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said today.

The NCOC, a department leading Pakistan’s campaign against the pandemic, said, the country’s number of overall confirmed cases has risen to 1,264,384.

Over the past 24 hours, 1,440 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,209,878, said the NCOC.

Another 17 deaths were recorded during the period, taking the death toll to 28,269, according to the NCOC, adding that, 1,958 patients are in critical condition.

The southern Sindh province is the worst-affected region by the pandemic with 465,486 infections, followed by the eastern Punjab province, which has reported 437,793 cases.

According to government officials, the vaccination process is in full swing in Pakistan. The country has administered 93,551,193 doses of vaccines so far, and has fully vaccinated 34,809,848 people, said the NCOC.– NNN-APP
