CAIRO, Oct 15 (NNN-MENA) – Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, and British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, discussed yesterday, means of promoting bilateral ties, especially in defence, security and anti-terrorism fields, the Egyptian presidency office said in a statement.
The two leaders, in a phone conversation, also tackled the topic about reviving tourist flows from the United Kingdom (UK) to Egypt.
Additionally, the talks touched upon regional issues of common interest, Libya in particular, the statement said, adding that, Sisi and Johnson agreed on boosting the ongoing political path, until achieving the aspired elections by end of the year.
They also stressed the importance of the exiting of all foreign forces from Libya.
The statement added that, both leaders further discussed the latest developments of the controversial issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The Egyptian president stressed the importance of reaching a fair, legal and balanced deal over the operation and filling of the GERD, in a way that preserves Egypt’s share of the Nile River and rights of the other parties, as well as, maintaining regional stability.– NNN-MENA
