S.Korean President’s Approval Rating Falls To 40 Percent: Poll

SEOUL, Oct 11 (NNN-YONHAP) – South Korean President, Moon Jae-in’s approval rating fell 0.4 percentage points from a week earlier to 40.0 percent last week, a weekly poll showed today.

The negative assessment on Moon’s conduct of state affairs rose 0.8 percentage points to 56.8 percent, according to the Realmeter survey.

Support for Moon’s ruling Democratic Party slipped 1.0 percentage point over the week to 31.4 percent last week.

The main conservative opposition People Power Party garnered 39.2 percent of approval score last week, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous week.

The minor centre-left Open Democratic Party won 7.1 percent of support, trailed by the minor centre-right People’s Party with 5.9 percent and the minor progressive Justice Party with 2.9 percent.

The results were based on a poll of 2,015 voters, conducted from last Tuesday to Friday. It had plus and minus 2.2 percentage points in margin of error, with a 95 percent confidence level.– NNN-YONHAP
