SINGAPORE, Sept 29 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 2,236 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally in the country to 91,775.
This is the first time Singapore sees the number of new COVID-19 cases exceed 2,000, in a single day.
Of the new cases, 1,711 were in the community, 515 were in migrant workers’ dormitories and 10 were imported cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said, in a press release.
A total of 1,325 COVID-19 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 209 cases of serious illness, requiring oxygen supplementation, and 30 in critical condition, in the intensive care units, said the MOH.
As of Monday, 82 percent of the local population has been fully vaccinated, and 85 percent has received at least one dose, according to the ministry.– NNN-CNA
