GEORGETOWN (GUYANA), March 16 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) condemned in the strongest terms terrorist attacks against two mosques in New Zealand, with a preliminary death toll of 49 and 48 wounded.
The regional organization, on Twitter , expressed its rejection of ‘the savage act’ perpetrated by armed men who opened fire at the temples of Al Noor and Linwood, in the Christchurch district, while hundreds of people attended Friday’s prayer.
CARICOM also expressed its deepest sympathy to New Zealand government and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described the act as a ‘well-planned terrorist attack’.
There are so far four people arrested for the fact that it has generated widespread international rejection, police chief Mike Bush said at a press conference. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
