RAMALLAH, Sept 1 (NNN-PNN) – A Palestinian man was killed late last night, by Israeli soldiers, near the West Bank city of Ramallah, said Palestinian medics and eyewitnesses.
In a short press statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that, a 39-year-old man from the village of Beit Ur, west of Ramallah, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers, at an Israeli army roadblock near the city.
Eyewitnesses said that, the soldiers opened fire directly at the Palestinian man, at an Israeli army roadblock, in the outskirts of the city, and prevented local ambulances from reaching him.
They added that, the Israeli soldiers erected the roadblock, to check Palestinian workers returning from Israel, to their homes in the West Bank. The Israeli army made no immediate comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, Palestinian social media activists, published short video clips showing the body of the Palestinian man on the ground and covered with blood.
According to a recent report of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs in the Palestinian territories, Israel has killed 55 Palestinians in the West Bank, since the beginning of this year.
In Gaza, Palestinian medics said, at least five Palestinian protestors were injured, including one in serious condition, by Israeli soldiers, during night protests near the borders between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.
The night protests on the borders in eastern Gaza Strip, and the clashes with Israeli soldiers have been going on for four consecutive days, to oppose the Israeli blockade imposed on the coastal enclave for more than 14 years.– NNN-PNN
