New Zealand Reports 83 New Cases Of COVID-19

WELLINGTON, Aug 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) – New Zealand reported 83 new cases of COVID-19, said the Ministry of Health in a statement today.

Of the new cases, 82 were in the Auckland community and one was a recent returnee in managed isolation facility, said the ministry.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Aug community outbreak to 429, with 415 in Auckland and 14 in Wellington, according to the ministry.

There are 376 COVID-19 cases in the current community outbreak that have been found clear epidemiological links, yet the sources of a further 53 cases have not been established, said the ministry.

Of the current community cases, 25 are in hospital, with 23 in a stable condition and two in ICU, it said.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand now reached 3,023.

Yesterday, 89,316 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered across the country, which was the second biggest daily total to date. All together over 3.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in New Zealand, said the ministry.– NNN-AGENCIES
