TEHRAN, Aug 28 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s foreign minister will attend the upcoming Iraqi Neighbouring Countries Conference, Iran’s spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, announced yesterday.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the newly-appointed Iranian foreign minister, will head a delegation to the conference, said Khatibzadeh, according to the ministry’s website.
Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, officially invited Iran to attend the conference during his recent visit to Tehran.
The conference, scheduled to be held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, today, “will focus on cooperation and economic integration between Iraq and its partners,” said Nizar al-Khairallah, Iraqi Foreign Ministry senior undersecretary and spokesman of the regional conference.– NNN-IRNA
