TOKYO, Aug 24 (NNN-NHK) – Japan will send three Self-Defence Forces planes to Afghanistan, to evacuate Japanese nationals and local staff who worked for the Japanese embassy and other organisations, top government spokesperson said, yesterday.

Chief Cabinet Secretary, Katsunobu Kato, said, the government will send one C-2 transport aircraft and two C-130s to Afghanistan for the evacuation mission.
