BEIRUT, Lebanon, March 14 (NNN-NNA) – Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon, Emmanuelle Lamoureux, vowed to help Lebanon’s Interior Ministry in its reform process.
“We will cooperate with the interior ministry, in its efforts to reform prisons, strengthen the capabilities of municipal police, in addition to the fight against domestic violence,” Lamoureux said, during her meeting with Raya Haffar El Hassan, Lebanon’s interior minister.
Lamoureux said, she is sure that cooperation with Lebanon’s Interior Ministry will be dynamic and fruitful.
El Hassan vowed earlier, to work on the central prison of Roumieh, as well as others, including women’s prisons and underage prisoners, some of whom share cells with adults.
She also promised to improve women’s access to their rights.– NNN-NNA
