ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 13 (NNN-APP) – The Pakistani army, said that, anti-terrorism officials have arrested two “important terrorists” in the north-west area of the country.
An army statement said, the security forces, along with officials from the counter-terrorism department, conducted an intelligence-based operation in Mahnshera district, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where two important terrorists, including their three accomplices were arrested.
The apprehended terrorists were involved in sabotage activities in the area, including targeting police and military convoys, target killing of the law enforcement agencies and attack on mosques of Shiite Muslims, a statement from the army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations said, without revealing further details on the arrests.
The operation was part of the ongoing operation: “Radd-ul-Fasaad” or “Reject Terror” across the country, which is a military offensive, involving all law-enforcement agencies against the “latent threat of terrorism.” The offensive was launched in Feb, 2017.– NNN-APP
