GAZA, March 12 (NNN-Xinhua) — A Palestinian young man died of wounds caused by Israeli gunfire when Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers in eastern Gaza Strip, authorities said on Tuesday.
Musa Mohammed Musa, 23, from the central Gaza Strip town of Deir el-Ballah was injured in a protest near the border on March 1, Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told reporters.
Musa was the second Palestinian who died of wounds from the Israeli gunfire in recent days, he said.
Authorities said on Monday that Bassam Safi, 22, died of wounds sustained on Feb. 22 in Israeli gunfire east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, close to the border with Israel.
Palestinians have been organizing weekly anti-Israel protests and rallies since March 30 last year, also known as the marches of return, calling on Israel to end its blockade on the Gaza Strip since 2007.
Officials from the Health Ministry in Gaza said more than 260 Palestinians have been shot and killed and thousands of others wounded since the weekly protests began last March. — NNN-XINHUA
