VIENTIANE, Aug 20 (NNN-KPL) – A total of 60 people were killed and 642 injured in road accidents across Laos in July, according to the latest report from the Lao Ministry of Public Security.
According to the report, issued by the traffic police department, under the Lao Ministry of Public Security, there were 428 road accidents across the country during July, with 60 people killed, 642 injured and 726 vehicles damaged.
Lao capital, Vientiane, saw the highest number of road accidents, followed by Savannakhet and Champasak provinces.
The number of road accidents across the country increased in July, compared to statistics for June, according to the report.
There were 326 accidents across the country during June, with 37 people killed, 429 injured and 563 vehicles damaged.
The major causes of road accidents in Laos are speeding, drunk driving, drivers’ suddenly changing direction, and general violation of traffic regulations.– NNN-KPL
