Fighter Jet Crash Kills Pilot In South-Western Russia

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (NNN-TASS) – A Russian MiG-29 jet fighter, crashed yesterday, during a scheduled flight in the south-western Astrakhan Region, local media reported.

“On Aug 18, 2021, a MiG-29 plane crashed, during a planned flight in the Astrakhan Region. The plane crashed in a deserted place, on the territory of the Ashuluk range,” Sputnik reported, citing Russia’s Southern Military District.

The flight was carried out without ammunition and the pilot died, it said.

A commission of the High Command of the Aerospace Forces was sent to the site of the crash, to establish the causes of the accident, it added.– NNN-TASS
