DAMASCUS, Aug 4 (NNN-SANA) – A military bus exploded, in Syria’s capital, here this morning, killing the driver and wounding three others.
The explosion took place, following an electrical short circuit that caused the gas tank to blow up inside the bus, when it stopped at the Masaken al-Haras area, a neighbourhood, housing military personnel in northwestern Damascus.
A report dismissed preliminary speculations that the explosion was an act of terror or caused by an explosive device.
People in the area heard the explosion and saw thick columns of smoke rising.
Online photos posted by passers-by showed a badly burnt bus and heavy smoke in the area.– NNN-SANA
