Jordan Plans To Create Fund For Victims Of Human Trafficking

AMMAN, Jordan, March 11 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan is planning to create a fund to help victims of human trafficking, in accordance with a new law.

The fund, which will be affiliated to the Ministry of Justice, is expected to provide all kinds of support and necessary assistance to those affected by such crimes.

The law on human trafficking, which was amended by the cabinet recently, followed studies and recommendations by the national committee for combating human trafficking.

Under the law, Jordan tightened penalties on human trafficking crimes through several measures to eradicate such crimes.

Minister of Justice, Bassam Talhouni, said, human trafficking targets vulnerable people, and the new law is in line with the international practices.

The minister also called for more efforts to combat human trafficking, saying, Jordan has a strategy to combat such crimes in 2019-2022.– NNN-PETRA
