MEHTARLAM, Afghanistan, Jul 31 (NNN-AGENCIES) – At least 20 commuters were confirmed dead, in two road accidents, in eastern Laghman province, today, provincial government spokesman, Asadullah Dawlatzai, said.
“The first accident took place when a mini-bus and a car collided in Qargai district, very early this morning. As a result, eight travellers were killed and 10 others injured. Women and children are among the victims,” Dawlatzai said.
Similarly, a car collided with another one in neighbouring Kach-e-Aziz Khan district, also this morning, leaving 12 commuters dead and eight others injured, the official added.
The official said, the congested roads and careless driving often cause such road accidents in the country.– NNN-AGENCIES
