Vietnam’s Daily COVID-19 Spike Hits Record High For 4th Day

HANOI, Jul 12 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam reported a new record high of 1,953 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, surpassing the previous record of 1,853 cases registered on Saturday, according to its Ministry of Health.

The new infections include 1,945 locally transmitted and eight imported, bringing the total tally to 29,816, the ministry said.

Among the community cases, 1,397 were reported in the southern Ho Chi Minh City, 234 in the nearby southern Binh Duong province, and 50 in the southern Dong Thap province.

Yesterday, the ministry also confirmed that four more COVID-19 patients had died, raising the total number of related deaths to 116.

Nationwide, as many as 9,275 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered, up 71 from Saturday.

As of yesterday, Vietnam registered a total of 27,892 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, including 26,322 detected since the start of the latest outbreak in late Apr, according to the health ministry.– NNN-VNA
