BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 9 (NNN-NINA) – Five Iraqi soldiers were killed in gunfire, inside a military base in western Baghdad, and the shooter was arrested for interrogation, the Iraqi military said.
Baghdad Operations Command (BOC), responsible for security in Baghdad, said that, it has launched a probe into the incident, after capturing the perpetrator, according to a statement by media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC).
The statement did not give details about the incident, but an army officer anonymously said that, “a soldier opened fire on a group of soldiers in a military base in Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, leaving five soldiers killed and a sixth injured.”
The wounded soldier was transferred to a military hospital for treatment, the officer said.– NNN-NINA
