Brunei Reports Two New Imported COVID-19 Cases, 268 Cases In Total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jul 11 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei reported two new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the national tally to 268.

According to Brunei’s Ministry of Health, the new cases are a 22-year-old man and a woman aged 28 years old, and both arrived from Jakarta, Indonesia on Jun 27. Both show no signs of infection.

Investigation and contact tracing confirmed no close contacts for the two cases as they were quarantined upon arrival.

The new cases are being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Centre with eight other active patients, who are all in a stable condition.

With the detection of the new cases, a total of 127 imported cases have been confirmed, since the last local infection case on May 6, 2020. Brunei has recorded 430 days without local COVID-19 infection cases.

There have been a total of 255 recovered patients and three deaths reported from COVID-19, so far, in the country.– NNN-ANN
