TEHRAN, Jul 10 (NNN-ISNA) – An explosion was heard around Mellat Park, in northern Tehran early today, but no casualties were reported, according to local media.
Firefighters did not find any trace about the reported explosion in the Iranian capital, a spokesman for the Fire Department said.
Early this morning, people contacted the Fire Department saying that “they heard a terrible noise in the northern part of Tehran,” Seyed Jalal Maleki, said.
Most of these calls were from the neighbourhood of Mellat Park, and firefighters were dispatched to the area, he said.
Hamid Reza Goudarzi, deputy security chief for Tehran Province, was quoted by Iranian media as saying that, the blast did not cause any human damage, and the cause of the incident is being investigated to confirm whether it was a terrorist act.– NNN-ISNA
