The Russian spaceship had more than 2.5 tons of cargo on board

MOSCOW, July 3 (NNN-AGENCIES) — A Russian cargo spaceship has arrived at the International Space Station with food, oxygen and drinking water for its residents.

After a two-day journey, the Progress MS-17 automatically docked with the ISS on Friday, according to the Russian space agency Roskosmos.

It had more than 2.5 tons of cargo on board, including fuel, equipment for space experiments, medical and technical equipment as well as clothing and hygiene articles.

The craft was launched on Wednesday from the Russian spaceport Baikonur in the Central Asian ex-Soviet republic of Kazakhstan.

A total of seven crew members are currently on the human outpost some 400 kilometers above the Earth.

In addition to two Russians, three Americans and one Japanese astronaut, the ISS team also includes Frenchman Thomas Pesquet. — NNN-AGENCIES
