MADRID, June 24 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The Spanish Government is going to prohibit the use of masks from Saturday, June 26 in outdoor spaces, whenever it is possible to comply with social distancing.
The new rule will allow citizens to walk down the street without the individual protection mask whenever it is possible to comply with the social distance of 1.5 meters.
However, it will be mandatory for each person to have a mask, always available, in case it is necessary to use it abroad, the Spanish Health Minister, Carlina Darias, announced, during a meeting of the Council for Inter-territorial National Health System.
The end of street mask wearing in Spain was announced by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez last week.
The PM stressed at the time that this is a very important announcement for all Spaniards and that it must be seen together with the good pace of vaccination.
According to the most recent epidemiological balance, released in the last 24 hours by the Ministry of Health of the country, 4,040 new infections were detected in Spain and 30 more people died due to Covid-19.
The country has an accumulated caseload of 3,768,691 cases and 80,719 deaths. — NNN-AGENCIES
