KABUL, Jun 18 (NNN-XINHUA) – Afghanistan inaugurated its fourth fully-equipped COVID-19 hospital in the capital Kabul, amid report of rising new cases, the Afghan Public Health Ministry announced today.
The 50-bed Afghan-Indonesia hospital, equipped with oxygen producing device, emergency section and other required medical equipment, was dedicated for the patients’ treatment in Ahmad Shah Baba Mina neighbourhood in the city.
“Inauguration of the new COVID-19 hospital is a serious need for treating patients, and the hospital was established when Afghanistan is containing the third wave of COVID-19,” the statement said.
The Afghan-Indonesia hospital is the fourth special COVID-19 hospital in the city, with about five million population.
Yesterday, the ministry reported 2,313 new COVID-19 cases and 101 more deaths in 24 hours, raising the national counts to 98,844 and 3,943 respectively.– NNN-XINHUA
