S. Korea Reports 399 More Covid-19 Cases, 148,273 In Total

SEOUL, Jun 14 (NNN-YONHAP) – South Korea reported 399 more cases of COVID-19, as of midnight, compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 148,273.

The daily caseload was down from 452 the previous day, falling below 400 in over two months, since Mar 29. The daily average caseload for the past week was 520.

Daily number of infections hovered in triple figures since Nov 8, last year, due to small cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province, as well as, imported cases.

Of the new cases, 120 were Seoul residents and 113 were people residing in Gyeonggi province.

Thirty-nine cases were imported from overseas, lifting the combined figure to 9,364.

Three more deaths were confirmed, making the death toll at 1,988. The total fatality rate stood at 1.34 percent.

A total of 441 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 139,022. The total recovery rate was 93.76 percent.

The country tested over 10.16 million people, among whom 9,893,800 tested negative and 123,424 are being checked.

Since the mass vaccination was launched on Feb 26, the country has administered COVID-19 vaccines to a total of 11,830,381 people with 3,004,029 fully vaccinated.– NNN-YONHAP
