RAMALLAH, Jun 12 (NNN-PNN) – A Palestinian teenager was killed and dozens of others were injured yesterday, by Israeli soldiers, during clashes in the West Bank, medics and eyewitnesses said.
The Palestinian ministry of health said in a statement that, a Palestinian teenager was killed and six injured by Israeli soldiers, in clashes in the village of Beita, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Eyewitnesses said that, clashes broke out yesterday afternoon, in several West Bank villages, when the Palestinians protested against the expansion of Israeli settlements in the enclave, adding that, the Israeli soldiers fired teargas canisters and live bullets, at dozens of demonstrators in the northern West Bank.
According to medical sources, dozens suffered suffocation near the West Bank cities of Nablus and Ramallah, including children.
Tension between Israelis and Palestinians has been flaring over the past few weeks, in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.– NNN-PNN
