Australia’s Blue Mountains Gradually Recovers From Devastating Bushfires

SYDNEY, Jun 7 (NNN-XINHUA) – More than 100 Australian plant species had their all-known populations burnt, during the 2019-20 “Black Summer” bushfires, according to a study published by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), early this year.

The study also found that, 816 species had at least half the area they grow destroyed by fires. More than 150 species of native plants are estimated to have lost 90 percent or more of their ranges.– NNN-XINHUA
