YANGON, May 29 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar reported 72 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 143,486 yesterday, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.
No new death was reported and the death toll stood at 3,216.
The number of recoveries rose to 132,279, after 10 more recovered patients were discharged from hospitals yesterday, the release said.
Also yesterday, 1,230 samples were tested for COVID-19.
The ministry imposed a stay-at-home order in Tonzang township of Chin state, and Tamu township of Sagaing region, starting today, as the townships have recently seen an increasing number of COVID-19 cases.– NNN-MNA
