ISLAMABAD, May 26 (NNN-APP) – Exports of information and communications technology (ICT) and telecommunication services of Pakistan, grew by around 46 percent during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2021, as against the same period of the last fiscal year, said the government.
Meanwhile, exports of the country’s ICT and telecom services were recorded at 1.70 billion U.S. dollars, during July-Apr (2020-21), as against the exports of 1.17 billion U.S. dollars during July-Apr (2019-20), Abdul Razak Dawood, advisor to Pakistani prime minister for commerce and investment, said.
In Apr 2021, exports grew by about 66 percent to 196 million U.S. dollars as compared to 118 million U.S. dollars in Apr 2020, the official said.
“These exports now look set to breach the two billion (U.S. dollars) mark for the first time in our history. I commend the hard work of our ICT and Telecom exporters and assure them that the MoC (Ministry of Commerce) is at their service for any facilitation they need,” the official added.
According to the ICT experts in the country, the increase in exports is linked with the prudent policies and multiple incentives, given by the government.– NNN-APP
