Iran Reports 11,005 New COVID-19 Cases, 2,843,523 In Total

TEHRAN, May 25 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran reported yesterday, 11,005 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country’s total infections to 2,843,523.

The pandemic has so far claimed 78,848 lives in Iran, up by 251 in the past 24 hours, the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education said.

A total of 2,347,752 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 4,753 remain in intensive care units, the ministry said.

The report added that, 19,054,521 tests have so far been carried out across the country.

By yesterday, 2,608,182 people have received vaccines in the country, with 460,853 taking both doses.

Shortly after the daily data was released, a new set of health regulations for the upcoming presidential election was announced, by Iran’s health ministry on its official website.

Political rallies in closed spaces are prohibited, meetings in the open area must be limited to a maximum capacity of one person per eight square metres, all participants must respect safe distances and wear face masks, the duration of meetings must not exceed two hours, and the Interior Ministry must increase the number of polling stations compared with previous years.– NNN-IRNA
