Serbia, Russia hold joint anti-terror exercise

BELGRADE, May 21 (NNN-Xinhua) — The Serbian and Russian armies are holding joint training in the Serbian region of Deliblato Sands, the Serbian Defense Ministry said.

Titled “Joint Response 2021,” members of the special units of the Army of Serbia and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hold the exercise to train commands and units, exchange experiences and transfer knowledge and skills “from the modern fight against terrorism,” the ministry said in a statement.

During the training, tactical actions and procedures of special units in performing anti-terrorist actions are practiced on land, in the water and in the air, with weapons and equipment used in the Serbian and Russian armies, and a tactical exercise with combat shooting will be performed, according to the ministry.

Local media also reported that around 200 members of special operation units from Russia and 11 units of military equipment participate in the training. — NNN-XINHUA
