ISLAMABAD, May 20 (NNN-APP) – The remaining matches of the 6th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL-6), have been postponed once again, due to different hurdles caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, local media reported last night.
Local media, quoting official sources from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reported that, the decision was taken by the sports authority, after the six participating teams’ managements expressed inability to ensure a bio-secure bubble for the players and team officials.
On Mar 4 this year, the tournament was put off after several players and teams’ staff were tested positive for COVID-19, despite being inside a bio-secure bubble.
Earlier, the PCB announced plans to hold the matches of the tournament away from home grounds, in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, starting from June 1, 2021, but it had to reverse its decision.
The PCB has already directed the players not to check into hotels for quarantine, because they would not travel to the United Arab Emirates as planned, said the reports.
According to the reports, the PCB officials are likely to hold a press conference today, to brief about the decision.– NNN-APP
