Brunei Reports Three New COVID-19 Cases, 235 Cases In Total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 19 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei reported three new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, with all of them imported from abroad, bringing the national tally to 235.

According to Brunei’s Ministry of Health, one of the new cases is a 41-year-old man, who arrived in the country from Pakistan via Kuala Lumpur. The other two cases were two men from Manila, however, neither of them has symptoms of infection.

Investigation and contact tracing confirmed no close contacts for the three new cases, as they were quarantined upon arrival in the country.

The new cases are being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Centre with the other seven active cases, who are all in a stable condition.

With the detection of these cases, a total of 94 imported cases have been confirmed, since the last local infection case on May 6, 2020. Brunei has recorded 377 days without local COVID-19 infection cases.

There have been three deaths and 222 recovered patients, so far.– NNN-ANN
